Laboratory for biomedical neuroscience


The Laboratory for Biomedical Neurosciences (LBN) of the Neurocenter of Southern Switzerland  is a multidisciplinary translational research lab created in 2011 by the Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale (EOC) to improve understanding of neurodegenerative brain disease with emphasis on movement disorders. The overall goal of LBN is to find solutions to stop the disease progression and so improve the well-being of the patients. Moreover, LBN is engaged in training and education of young scientist and so foster their career in basic and clinical research. LBN growing staff is currently performing studies on animal and cellular disease models.

Since 2013, the Lab joined the SIRM family in Taverne and is currently hosting fourteen scientists in four research groups.
