Monday June 20th 2016, the Swiss Institute for Regenerative Medicine (SIRM) and Cardiocentro Ticino will introduce the fifth edition of the Lugano Stem Cell Meeting (LSCM), a two-day study meeting on regenerative medicine expressly designed to create bridges between local researchers and some of the most brilliant and famous experts on regenerative medicine in the world.
The international meeting that will host more than 150 participants and will be hosted by the local Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI), will address some of the most debated topics of cellular and non-cellular therapies, encouraging critical and didactic discussion between scholars and experts and creating a platform for further scientific collaboration and publications.
As for the previous editions of the Meeting, the first day will be focused on basic research while the second day will be more specifically devoted to clinical applications and cell therapy trials. Spotlight sessions of this edition will highlight exosomes as paracrine mediators of functional effects of stem cells, noncoding RNA as critical regulators of cell function, and stem cell-based approaches for the treatment of neurological diseases.
