10 millions CHF for a new life sciences pole in Lugano


Lugano town council unanimously voted today a CHF 10 millions credit to buy the Mizar Palace, a 7000 sq building placed just nearby the Lugano University Campus where the Lugano Municipality, in cooperation with the Cardiocentro Ticino Foundation are going to create a new medtech innovation center in southern Switzerland.

Worth CHF 40 millions, the Mizar palace was originally designed to host banking institutions and will be consequently fully renovated to become a new common home for the SIRM and other research institutes, companies and startups engaged in life sciences and in medical research.
